Karachi, (Staff Reporter)
National Labor Federation President (Karachi Division) Khalid Khan has alleged that workers in Sindh are being deprived of their rights due to corruption within the Workers’ Welfare Board (WWB) Sindh. He specifically named Zahid Hakro, whose demotion was ordered by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, but claimed that despite court directives and multiple cases registered against him with NAB and the Anti-Corruption Department, the orders are being ignored.
Khalid Khan stated that after the Supreme Court’s decision, 16 officers on deputation in WWB were sent back to their parent departments, except Zahid Hakro. Instead, he alleged, a special post of Deputy Director Estate (BPS-18) was created for him, granting him authority to sell Workers’ Welfare Board assets, including land and residential quarters meant for poor laborers, allegedly through agents.
He further accused Secretary WWB Sindh Sualeh Jumani of protecting Zahid Hakro despite complaints and a punished service record, claiming that WWF land in Larkana and Sukkur has already been sold. Khalid Khan demanded immediate implementation of Supreme Court orders and strict action to safeguard the rights and welfare of workers across Sindh.
