Karachi, Vice Chancellor of Iqra University, Dr. Nasar Ikram, said that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss key national issues, adding that a major conference will be held in Islamabad from December 3 to 5.
Dr. Ikram highlighted that the discussion centered on governance at the national level and the possibility of creating smaller provinces to improve administration. He further stressed the importance of granting autonomy to both private and public universities. “The future of our country lies with our youth,” he said, emphasizing the need for a one-window solution for all universities with equal representation. He also underscored the significance of restoring institutional collaboration and connections.
Iqra University Chairman, Naveed Lakhani, while speaking to the media, also underlined the relevance of such dialogues for the progress of the education sector. The meeting was attended by vice chancellors and sports coordinators from various private universities.
On the occasion, Chairman of the Association of Private Sector Universities Pakistan, Shahid Faqir, announced that a grand All Pakistan Inter-University Olympiad will be organized in October. Among those present were Iqra University’s Sports Director Dr. Shiraz-ul-Hasan Mohani, Gohar Raza, Furqan Raza, Noman Ahmed, Abdul Hafeez, Asif Zaheer Hashmi, Ahmed Bilal, Kashif Ahmed Farooqui, and others.
