The Asian Football Confederation has announced Saudi Aramco as an Official Global Supporter of the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027, marking a significant milestone in the tournament’s commercial evolution. As part of the agreement, the host venue in Al Khobar will be named Aramco Stadium, introducing stadium naming rights for the first time in AFC Asian Cup history. This move reflects a broader shift in the AFC’s commercial strategy toward global standards and deeper brand integration.
AFC General Secretary Windsor John described the partnership as the beginning of a new era of innovation, emphasizing enhanced fan experiences and stronger collaboration with global partners. Aramco’s Senior Vice President Khalid A. Al Zamil highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting communities and promoting sport across Asia, while Asia Football Group CEO Patrick Murphy called the deal a reflection of the shared ambition to deliver an extraordinary tournament.
The 2027 edition will be the first AFC Asian Cup hosted by Saudi Arabia, with matches set to take place in world-class venues including the state-of-the-art Aramco Stadium in the Eastern Province. Designed as a multi-purpose sports and entertainment destination, the venue is expected to play a key role not only in the Asian Cup but also in the 2034 FIFA World Cup, highlighting the Kingdom’s growing influence in global football under its Vision 2030 initiative.
