Karachi: The inaugural IoBM Squash Satellite Championship 2026 concluded successfully after four days of thrilling competition at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) Squash Courts in Karachi. The championship, held from June 15 to 18, was organized by IoBM in collaboration with the Sindh Squash Association and powered by Apexora.
The tournament attracted 32 talented players from across Pakistan, including participants from Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A total of 31 matches were played during the championship, showcasing a high standard of squash and providing spectators with exciting displays of skill, determination, and sportsmanship.
Following an intense series of matches, Anas Ali Shah emerged as the champion of the tournament, while Anas Khan secured the runner-up position after a closely contested final.
The championship featured a total prize purse of USD 1,000, with cash awards distributed among the top-performing players. The winner received USD 200, while the runner-up was awarded USD 140. Players finishing in third and fourth places received USD 90 each, while participants placed between fifth and sixteenth positions were also rewarded for their performances.
The closing ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including IoBM President Talib S. Karim, Vice President (FHE) and Chief Advisor IoBM Sabina Mohsin, Pakistan Tennis Association President Khalid Rehamani, Sindh Squash Association Secretary Navid Rehman, and IoBM Head of Sports Hassan Irfan.
The guests distributed trophies, medals, and prize money among the winners and participants. They praised the players for their outstanding performances and commended the efforts of the organizers, officials, volunteers, and supporters whose dedication ensured the successful conduct of the championship.
The successful staging of the event marks another significant milestone in IoBM’s commitment to promoting sports excellence and providing competitive opportunities for emerging athletes across Pakistan. The institution expressed its determination to continue hosting national-level sporting events and contributing to the development of sports in the country.
