Karachi,, Exciting contests marked Day 5 of the Pakistan Tennis Federation tournament as quarterfinalists and semifinalists were decided across multiple categories.
In the Men’s Singles Quarterfinals, Muzammil Murtaza defeated Muhammad Shoaib in straight sets 6-1, 6-3. Aqeel Khan outclassed Ahmed Nael Qureshi 6-3, 6-1, while Yousaf Khalil overcame Mudassir Murtaza 7-5, 6-1. Barkat Ullah secured his place in the semifinals after beating Hamza Roman 6-4, 7-5.
The Men’s Doubles Semifinals witnessed thrilling encounters. The pair of Muhammad Shoaib and Hamza Roman defeated Muzammil Murtaza and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi 2-6, 6-4 (10-4). In the other semifinal, Mudassir Murtaza and Nael Qureshi edged past Yousaf Khalil and Barkat Ullah 6-4, 2-6 (10-8) in a closely fought match.
In the Ladies’ Singles Semifinals, Romaisa Malik dominated Labaika Durab with a commanding 6-0, 6-0 victory. Shimza Naz also advanced after defeating Bismal Zia 6-2, 6-4.
In the Boys Under-18 Singles, Hamza Roman beat Haziq Areejo 6-1, 6-0. Amir Mazari comfortably won against Zain Nomi 6-0, 6-2, while Muhammad Yahaya triumphed over Rashid Ali Bachani 6-1, 7-6 (9).
In the Girls Under-18 Singles, Bismal Zia secured a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Eschelle Asif.
The Boys Under-14 Quarterfinals also produced impressive performances. Rashid Ali Bachani defeated Syed Sufyan 4-0, 4-1, while Shayan Afridi thrashed M. Ayaan Jee 6-0, 6-0. Meer Abbas Baghat beat Syed Abdullah 4-0, 4-0, and Keeyan Bus fought back to overcome Umer Zaman 2-4, 4-2, 4-1.
The tournament continues with high anticipation as players compete for top honors in their respective categories.
