Dubai / Karachi, India maintained their unbeaten run in the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 with a commanding seven-wicket victory over Pakistan in the sixth fixture at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday evening. This was Pakistan’s first defeat in the eight-team tournament.
Opting to bat first, Pakistan could only post 127 for nine in their 20 overs. Opener Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with a 44-ball 40, decorated with three sixes and a four. Lower down the order, Shaheen Shah Afridi provided some late fireworks, smashing an unbeaten 33 off just 16 deliveries, which included four towering sixes.
India’s bowling was spearheaded by Kuldeep Yadav, who claimed three wickets, while Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with two apiece to stifle Pakistan’s batting.
In reply, India comfortably chased down the target in 15.5 overs, losing just three wickets. Captain Suryakumar Yadav anchored the innings with an unbeaten 47 off 37 balls, striking five fours and a six. Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma also made valuable contributions of 31 runs each.
For Pakistan, left-arm spinner Saim Ayub stood out with figures of three for 35, but his efforts were not enough to prevent India from sealing a dominant win.
