Karachi, (Sports Reporter) Vice Chancellor Iqra University, Dr. Nassar Ikram, hosted a special luncheon to honour the university’s athletes for their outstanding performances in the HEC Inter-University Championships and the 35th National Games Karachi 2025. The ceremony was organized to recognize the dedication, discipline and perseverance of student-athletes who brought laurels to the university at national-level competitions. Director Sports, Iqra University, Dr. Shiraz-ul-Hassan Mohani, said the event aimed to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of students excelling in sports. According to Media Coordinator Kashif Ahmed Farooqui, the luncheon was attended by senior management, including the Registrar, Deans, Directors and officials of the Sports Department
providing athletes recognition at the highest institutional level.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Dr. Nassar Ikram lauded the athletes’ consistency and determination, emphasizing that sports play a vital role in character building, leadership development and holistic education. He noted that
athletics instill endurance, teamwork and continuity, advising students to focus on gradual, day-by-day improvement to achieve long-term goals. Reaffirming the university’s full support for sports, he highlighted improved facilities, training opportunities and competitive exposure, expressing hope that Iqra University athletes would represent Pakistan internationally. Notably, the university secured first position in the HEC Table Tennis Men’s General Trophy, second in HEC Shooting Men’s Championship and third in HEC Archery Men’s Championship, along with medals in Karate, Taekwondo and Fencing. At the 35th National Games, Iqra University athletes also won medals in Taekwondo, Wushu, Shooting, Volleyball and Throwball, reflecting the institution’s commitment to promoting sports alongside academic excellence.
