Zurich,The latest FIFA Futsal Women’s World Ranking has welcomed 12 new teams, reflecting the sport’s rapid global rise in the build-up to the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup™, which will take place in the Philippines from November 21 to December 7, 2025.
Brazil continue to dominate both the men’s and women’s rankings, with Spain and Portugal maintaining their status as the closest challengers. The updated standings, released this week, will also determine seeding and pot allocation for the official tournament draw scheduled for September 15.
The women’s ranking now features a record 92 teams following the entry of Canada, Mexico, Panama, Tanzania, Cameroon, Angola, Egypt, Honduras, Madagascar, Namibia, Guinea, and Cuba. Guatemala also made a return to the table, entering directly at 39th place after a lengthy absence.
Since the April update, 95 international women’s futsal matches have been played worldwide, including 57 World Cup qualifiers that confirmed the line-up for the maiden tournament. Teams such as Japan, IR Iran, Thailand, Morocco, Tanzania, Canada, Panama, and New Zealand secured their tickets to the historic competition.
Morocco enjoyed the biggest leap in the standings, rising from 47th to 31st after their triumph in the Women’s Futsal Africa Cup of Nations. Asian heavyweights Thailand and Japan also surged upward, now sitting at 4th and 5th in the world, respectively.
On the men’s side, Brazil remain number one, followed by Portugal, Spain, Argentina, and IR Iran. The most notable movers were Sweden (up 17 places to 74th), Moldova (up 14 to 66th), and Bahrain (up 14 to 69th). This ranking marks the fourth official release since FIFA launched the Elo-based futsal system in May 2024, aligning with the new FIFA Futsal International Match Calendar (2025–2028).
