Karachi, (Sports Reporter) Karachi’s victory in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy has brought immense joy to the people of the city, and the players truly deserve appreciation for their remarkable achievement these views were expressed by Nadeem Omar, President of the Regional Cricket Association Karachi, during a meeting with the Karachi Blues players who clinched the prestigious trophy.
He praised the outstanding performance of head coach Iqbal Imam, noting that under his coaching, Karachi teams have won the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy twice in just two and a half years a rare accomplishment. He announced that a CB Regional Cricket Association Karachi Academy for under-17 players will soon be established at the Naya Nazimabad ground, where PCB coaches will work on improving players’ technical skills. On this occasion, he also announced a prize of Rs 2.5 million for the team and said that a grand ceremony in their honor will soon be held at a local hotel.
Head coach Iqbal Imam said that along with the players’ efforts, the full support of Nadeem Omar Bhai played a vital role in securing the trophy. He added that several talented young players emerged from the tournament, including Saad Baig, Haroon Arshad, Saqib Khan, Muhammad Umar and Abdullah Fazal, who have the potential to make their city and country proud.
Team manager Syed Muhammad Ahmed Naqvi said that with the blessings of Almighty Allah, Karachi succeeded in winning the tournament a testament to the hard work of both players and support staff. He added that for the first time in Karachi’s history, the team has a president like Nadeem Omar, who fully respects and values players and coaches. In addition to the Rs 2.5 million reward, Nadeem Omar also awarded Rs 25,000 to standout performers of each match. Hassan Omar, Azam Khan, Faizan Najeeb and others were also present on the occasion.
