Karachi, A grand Scholarship Award Ceremony 2025 was organized at the University of Karachi through the joint collaboration of the Students Financial Aid Office (SFAO) and the University of Karachi Alumni Houston Association (UKAHA), Texas, USA. The event was presided over by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi and attended by several deans, former chairpersons including Professor Dr. A.R. Zaki, and other distinguished academic figures.
During the ceremony, scholarship cheques worth Rs. 2.5 million were distributed among 55 deserving students, covering one semester’s tuition fees. Continuing its commitment to educational support, UKAHA also announced an additional grant of Rs. 10 million to fund a four-year BBA degree program for 10 students, with the first installment of this long-term scholarship released on the occasion.
Addressing the audience, Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi appreciated the contribution of overseas alumni, stating that “the efforts of overseas alumni not only encourage students but also strengthen the ties between alumni residing in Pakistan and the United States.” He commended UKAHA for its continued dedication to the University’s development.
Scholarship recipients expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Azam Akhtar and Mr. G.M. Chishti from the USA for their generous support. The organizers, Feroz Iqbal and Professor Dr. Ziasma Hanif, thanked the guests for attending and lauded the overseas alumni’s initiative as a commendable step toward encouraging and supporting the talented students of the University of Karachi.
