Sialkot, (Sports Reporter) The Anwar Khawaja Memorial National Ranking Tennis Tournament successfully wrapped up on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Officers’ Mess in Sialkot. This landmark tournament, the first national tennis event ever hosted in Sialkot, featured the highest prize money among similar tournaments and attracted an impressive 210 entries across eight categories: Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Ladies Singles, Ladies Doubles, Boys 18 & Under Singles, Girls 18 & Under Singles, Boys 14 & Under Singles, and Boys 12 & Under Singles. Pakistan’s top tennis talent participated, delivering a thrilling display of competitive tennis.The tournament received high praise for its excellent facilities and smooth organization, with players expressing satisfaction with the arrangements.The final matches were live-streamed for the first time on the Pakistan Tennis Federation’s (PTF) YouTube Channel, enhancing engagement with tennis fans nationwide.Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), expressed his delight with the event’s success, saying, “This is the first tournament of its kind in Sialkot’s history, and we are determined to make it an annual event.” He extended his heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Khawar Khawaja, Ms. Asma Khawaja, and all the sponsors, whose support made the tournament possible.Ms. Asma Khawar Khawaja, the Tournament Director, also shared her joy at the positive feedback from participants.
