Lahore, (Sports Reporter) The President of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), Syed Mohsen Gilani, has announced the appointment of former Peruvian international Nolberto Solano as head coach of the Pakistan U23 and Senior Men’s National Teams.
Addressing a press conference, Gilani said Solano is the highest-profile coach ever to take charge of Pakistan football. He added that Solano’s experience will be vital in modernizing the game in the country and in inspiring local players. Gilani also confirmed the launch of Pakistan’s first national futsal team, which will compete in an international tournament for the first time, and said both FIFA and the AFC had assured full support for Pakistan’s football development.
Expressing gratitude for the appointment, Solano acknowledged the challenges ahead but said he was encouraged by the passion and talent he had already witnessed among Pakistani players. “With patience and hard work, we can build the game to a competitive standard,” he remarked, stressing that his immediate focus would be on preparing the U23 squad.
